About the team
The Consumer Engagement Marketing team’s mission is to drive retention and engagement by inspiring and delighting our customers throughout their journey with Roku. The team comprises marketers specializing in Lifecycle Marketing, Product Marketing, and Integrated Marketing. We aim to provide customers with the best streaming experience possible by helping them discover new features, engage with entertainment across the Roku platform, and delight in the entire Roku experience. When we succeed, we drive value for our business. We partner closely with teams across Roku, including Product Management, Analytics, Engineering, Operations, Creative, and others, to deliver a dynamic, personalized journey for our customers.
About the role
We seek a proactive and strategic thinker who loves entertainment and technology. Reporting to the Senior Product Marketing Manager, this internship will focus on strategy and tactics that will lead to the international growth of Roku’s proprietary payment platform. The ideal candidate will be well versed in the streaming business and familiar with digital transactions, e-commerce and subscription services. This role is well suited for someone who is naturally curious, highly self-motivated, and loves digging deep to pull a story and recommendation together. You love a challenge and thinking well outside the box. Questions are your favorite, and you are unafraid of ambiguity. You thrive when working closely with experienced teams but also enjoy the autonomy and productiveness of individual research and work. You have an A+ attitude and love to roll up your sleeves.
What you’ll be doing
- Working with the Senior Product Marketing Manager to develop strategies and recommendations to increase the adoption and usage of our payment platform
- Become a subject matter expert in consumer preferences and streaming habits in key markets outside of the US
- Develop market-specific recommendations for both product development and marketing activation opportunities.
- Leverage your impressive analytical skills to include projections and opportunity sizing with your recommendations
- Work cross-functionally to listen, learn, pose questions, and build relationships, particularly with the Product, Marketing, and Strategy teams
- Deliver a final presentation to executives and key stakeholders
We’re excited if you have
- Currently obtaining an MBA (or similar advanced degree)
- A passion for the future of streaming and the consumer experience
- Deep understanding of the digital media landscape, mainly e-commerce, payments and subscriptions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience creating compelling presentations and pitch documentation
- Can distill the complex into simplified and actionable plans
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects from start to finish
- Bias for action and passion for learning
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
