Bauer has been selected as a Disney College Program institution!

We are excited to share the following registration information for the spring 2018 term:

Disney Exploration Series (DES) Seminar Lottery Registration at Walt Disney World
Again for this term, Disney Exploration Series (DES) seminar registration will be done via a lottery system.  Here are the key things you need to know about this process:

  1. Waitlist Registration– All participants who are interested in taking a DES offering will have the option to waitlist for a class on a first come, first serve basis.  Participants will have a chance to preference their top choices, as well as provide information if they are required to enroll in a DES seminar offering to fulfill their school requirements.
  2. Participants required to take a DES offering– Our education administrative team will ensure those participants who have a requirement to take a DES offering are enrolled.  Please have your participants sign up for the waitlist during the lottery period, and provide the information indicating their requirements at the time they are selecting their lottery options.
  3. Notification of Enrollment– Once the lottery registration period is closed, participants will be notified via the DORMS system messaging if they were selected to be enrolled by receiving one of the following messages:
    • You’ve been enrolled notification– This message will state the participant has been promoted into the course. We will share reminders with the participant regarding class expectations, Disney Look, and checking workplace schedule to ensure availability to attend class.
    • Not selected notification– A message will be provided to all participants who did not gain enrollment into a DES class about additional opportunities during their program.
  4. NEW! Drop/Waitlist Period– Based on feedback from participants, new for this term we will provide participants an opportunity to adjust their enrollment after the Lottery Registration selection has been completed during the “drop/waitlist period”.  During this time, participants will have the option to drop themselves from the class if they are no longer interested, or if they want to waitlist for a class they did not get into, they will have the option to waitlist for the class.  Waitlist spaces will become available only as participants who are no longer interested in a class drop, and this will be on a first come-first served basis.

NEW! Professional Development Studies (PDS) Interest Statement at Registration (Walt Disney World only)

New for this term, in addition to requiring a participant’s transcript indicating their major for enrollment we will be requesting an interest statement as part of the waitlist process.  The purpose of this interest statement is to provide participants the opportunity to share how participating in the PDS will benefit their overall educational development, as related to their major.  Each term we see many participants with majors on their transcript that don’t match our requirements, but through further discussion we find that the major at their school does align with our requirements.  Asking for these statements during registration will help to streamline our process.

Receiving academic credit is a requirement to register for a collegiate offering at Walt Disney World
The commitment from a university or school to provide credit for our classes and/or the overall internship (Bauer students can get Internship for Credit) is important to us, and we greatly appreciate your support in providing this credit opportunity.
